In the heart of Highland Perthshire, sitting at the foot of Glen Lyon -one of Scotland’s most beautiful glens - lies the unique historic conservation village of Fortingall, famous for its gracious 5000 year old Yew Tree. Near the tree, architect James MacLaren created a model Victorian estate community, combining Scottish vernacular architecture with the rustic thatching and style of the Arts and Crafts movement. Within this village, the Fortingall Hotel welcomes those in search of a relaxing rural retreat.

The hotel has recently undergone complete renovation and refurbishment, in keeping with its heritage and location. Each of the ten en-suite rooms has been individually furnished using local Estate tweeds to create an atmosphere that is both comfortable and traditional but with a contemporary feel. Each room is equipped with satellite TV, tea and coffee making facilities, telephone and hairdryer. The newly installed en-suite bathrooms are spacious and modern, all with a bath and shower.

A delicious culinary experience is guaranteed at The Fortingall. From simple to sublime, our Head Chef, Ashley Miles, creates individual dishes using the very best from Scotland’s larder. Locally sourced and organic where possible, and complemented by a fine wine list, guests can savour the delights of dishes such as Glen Lyon Venison, Tay Salmon and Fortingall Lamb. Lunch and Dinner is served every day along with snacks and drinks. Visitors can choose from the a la carte menu in the traditional dining room or a more informal meal in the relaxed surroundings of the lounge bar or public bar.

There is also a cosy library, with a roaring fire in winter and comfortable sofas in which you can curl up and relax with a drink or a good book.
