GleneaglesOne of Britain 's very best and most famous clubs with several courses laid out over heathland, Gleneagles has long been a haven for great golf.

Designed with help from the legendary James Braid, the courses offers wide fairways, large greens and strategically placed hazards. In previous years, Gleneagles has hosted the Curtis Cup and in 1921, the first match between the USA and Great Britain and Ireland, which later became the Ryder Cup.

Course Name: Kings Holes: 18 Yardage: 6471 SSS: 71

Quite a long course made up mostly of par 4s, this course poses great challenges with a lack of accuracy severaly penalised by the numerous hazards. Confidence and skill are required to master the course and it should therefore be particularly appealing to the low handicapper.

Course Name: Monarch Holes: 18 Yardage: 7081 SSS: 74

The fairly new Jack Nicklaus designed, monster, which is an experience of a different kind. Set in Scotland with that American edge to it, this course has some outstanding holes to play upon and if you have the time to stay and then play at this excellent resort then you will have made a wise choice.

Course Name: Queens Holes: 18 Yardage: 5965 SSS: 69

This course is one of the most aesthetically pleasing courses in Scotland. Grandiose views, tranquil settings and a shear joy to play. Not as long as the Kings course but more picturesque, this course is similarly designed. It has more hazards, particularly water and trees. Once again, the great challenges set by this course guarantee a rewarding experience. However, the course is perhaps more suited to the more experienced golfer.

Course Name: Wee Par 3 Holes: 9 Yardage: 1481 SSS:

This course opened in the summer of 1928 and was designed by George Alexander who was the head green keeper at the time. This is a hilly course.
